2023 INVESTMENT SUMMARY
Total divivden received for 2023 is 38K. Majority from United Plantaion, INNOPRISE, Poh Huat and RCE Capital. Consider not bad :)
Top performers:
WellCall - 40% appreciation (sold most of it)
United Plantation - 20% appreciation (on paper gain)
RCE Capital - 190% (still holding for dividen)
KAWAN - 18% (dispose 100%)
Worst performers:
HEVEA - Very poor results (share price stagnant and no dividen)
BPPLAS - expected to perform but share price was lackluster.
ChinWell - Poor results
Tongher - Poor results
Takaful - lackluster share price (dispose 100%)
Poh Huat, Lihen and Magni are still red due to high inflation in USA that impede consumer spending. However, these counters are still paying good dividen. After disposing Takaful, Alliance Bank is added to the portfolio. The dividen from Alliance Bank is 6% which is good.
Expectation
SAMCHEM is on the rise following good quarterly result. It is good time to add as crude oil price seems stable and Vietnam business is on track of recovery.
Another Short Term play will be CSCSTEL. Dividen is expected to announce after Q4 results. The company has 50% dividen payout ratio so 7 cents is expected.
In summary, 2023 investment was satisfactory in view of good dividen and capital gains on some counters. Hope for better 2024 investment!
